What is sucralose?

Sucralose is a zero-calorie sugar substitute that is synthesized from sugar (specifically sucrose). It’s approved by the FDA as a “general-purpose sweetener” meaning it’s legally allowed to be used in any type of food or beverage.

Sucralose is approximately 600x sweeter than sugar, so you only need to add tiny amounts of it to food and beverages to sweeten them.

Is sucralose healthy?

Sucralose is considered to be a controversial ingredient. However, major health organizations such as the FDA, Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA), and the EU’s Scientific Committee on Food have all found, after rigorous evaluation, that consuming sucralose in the quantities typically used for sweetening food products is safe.

However, sucralose doesn’t provide any nutritional value. When it’s consumed, it basically just passes through the body unchanged and unprocessed. Our bodies ignore it and it provides no benefits beyond taste.

Why did we choose to use sucralose in our products?

We created Swigg to be hydrating and offer your daily dose of vitamins. But you can consider our drinks to be closer to gummy vitamins than green juice. Swigg is meant to be the healthiest version of a sweetened beverage you can get.

We chose to use sucralose because:

  • Using no-calorie sweeteners makes our products diabetic-friendly.
  • We want Swigg to satisfy your sweet tooth without using sugar or high fructose corn syrup
  • Sucralose is made to have no aftertaste and doesn’t change the texture of the food/beverages it’s in

Does your product contain any allergens?

Swigg is free of common food allergens like wheat, soy, milk, eggs, fish, peanuts, and tree nuts.

What vitamins and minerals are used in Swigg?

Swigg contains the following vitamin infusion:
  • Vitamin C
  • Vitamin D
  • Vitamin B6
  • Vitamin B12
  • Folate
  • Calcium
  • Iron
  • Magnesium
  • Zinc
